Serving Up Paddle Tennis Fun with the Pros
Stonington Community Center to Host Free Junior Paddle Day
Stonington, CT: The Stonington Community Center (COMO) is serving up a day of fun on the paddle courts for youth in 4th grade to high school. Youth are invited to join the COMO paddle pros and seasoned players on the courts for games, lessons and pizza on Tuesday, October 24th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
The free event is sponsored by the American Platform Tennis Association (APTA) as part of their First Serve initiative, intended to get youth on the courts and enjoying the sport early on.
No prior experience is necessary as the COMO Junior Paddle Day will teach youth the basics of the sport in an exciting environment. COMO paddle professionals, Steve and Trish Riggs are certified instructors of the PPTA (Professional Platform Tennis Association) and will lead the event.
Parents and/or guardians must complete a waiver prior to participation, which may be completed ahead of time and returned to the COMO’s front office at 28 Cutler Street, or may be completed at the event. More details can be found online at thecomo.org.
