JOB SUMMARY:  Demonstrate excellent representation of the aquarium at all times through a positive, can-do attitude and teamwork focused work ethic.

Performs tasks as assigned within guest and staff areas in a safe, efficient and professional manner and in accordance with written departmental procedures. These tasks include but are not limited to: cleaning, dishwashing and re-stocking. Any unusual conditions are to be reported immediately to the supervisor.

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be willing to consistently provide guest service above and beyond expectation.   

Ability to help guests and staff in a professional, outgoing manner.  Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions and take action that is appropriate and effective.  Must maintain a neat uniform and personal appearance.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Must have basic math skills. Must be able to work on a team as well as independently.  Must exhibit self-motivation and a positive attitude.  Must be available weekends. Multilingual; Spanish speaking preferred.



Guest Services Specialist, PT

JOB SUMMARY: Demonstrate excellent representation of the aquarium at all times through a positive, can-do attitude and teamwork focused work ethic.   

Provide a positive and engaging experience for every guest by hosting informative natural history talks at variety of animal exhibits. Ensure appropriate safety guidelines are relayed appropriately to guests as needed. Staff interpretative positions as scheduled with a positive, can-do attitude and teamwork focused work ethic. May be asked to work with small marine invertebrates, reptiles, and birds. Maintain knowledge of all aquarium emergency procedures, including guest and animal procedures and respond appropriately. Proactively initiate appropriate contact with guests to provide interesting and helpful information about our campus and collections. Maintain professional demeanor and image. Ensure cleanliness of the facility and maintains the safety of our Guests.

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be willing to consistently provide guest service above and beyond expectations.

Must possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working with the public.  Demonstrates friendliness and has an enthusiastic, outgoing personality.  Able to work as part of a team to deliver exemplary customer service at all times to internal and external customers.  Projects professional demeanor and maintains dress code. Able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions and to stand on feet for several hours.  Must be flexible and available on weekends, holidays, and summers. Multilingual; Spanish speaking preferred.

Job title: Food Pantry Coordinator

FLSA Status: Hourly (20 Hours per week)

Reports to: Executive Director,  Susan Sedensky


Under the direction of the Executive Director and in coordination with The Social Service Representative, the Food Pantry Coordinator will oversee the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of Food Pantry Volunteers; also will assist in purchasing and restocking of Food Pantry items; track costs and quality control of food; coordination of food drives; monthly statistics for the PNC Executive Director and the United Way of SECT.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains Food Pantry inventory by shopping at Gemma E. Moran United Way Labor Food Center. Purchases food and non-food from local stores.
  2. Trains, schedules and provides daily supervision of Food Pantry Volunteers
  3. Responsible for implementing Food Pantry Policies and Procedures.
  4. Oversees the cleanliness of Food Pantry floors, refrigerators, and freezers, and ensures all at the appropriate temperature.
  5. All other duties assigned.


To perform job successfully, individual must be able to perform all essential functions satisfactorily. Must have the ability to apply common sense in all situations.

Must possess or obtain a Food Services Management Certification for Food Safety and Sanitation principals.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, carry food items, and be able to assist with unloading and moving of food products.

POSITION: A/V Technician-Theater Rev.2017

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Information Technology

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, PTT-4-5 days per week.  Hours from 10am-5:00pm. Weekend work will be required.

Work with the Foxwoods Marine Theater staff assisting in the technical aspects of the daily sea lion show. The Audio Visual Technician performs technical services with minimal supervision.

Minimum Job Requirements:  Must be willing to consistently provide guest service above and beyond expectation.
A/V technology or related field and/or equivalent experience.  Working knowledge of PCs running Windows XP.  Knowledge of video projectors.    Physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Multilingual; Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support with lighting, audio and video during the live performances.

  • Operate, configure and maintain a PC based lighting system.

  • Set and adjust audio levels for vocals and recorded programming.

  • Switch media playback via seamless switcher, DVD and PC.

  • Maintain AV equipment in booth and throughout the facility.

  • Operate projector and other A/V equipment during programs at the Aquarium.

  • Uphold Information Technology department guidelines, as well as recommend new and improved methods to better service and ensure compatibility.

  • Adhere to and maintain a positive working relationship with all company employees and department managers to optimize working relationships and communications.

  • Assist with programing of lighting.


  • All employees are responsible for working in a safe manner at all times.

  • Every employee must properly use, and keep in good order, all personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied to them as protection from recognized hazards.

  • Every employee must report any unsafe condition

  • Every employee must have a working knowledge of all Facility wide, and Department specific, safety procedures that relate to their position, including, but not limited to:  Emergency Evacuation, Lockdown Procedure, and Fire Extinguisher Use.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
